Cogges turns into Dracula's castle 22 October to 1 November, adults £16. Crocodile Fright Nights 29 to 31 October, a museum ghost walk and Blenheim's trail.

Halloween in Witney is built around one place in the town and three a short drive away. Cogges Manor Farm turns its Manor House into Dracula’s castle from Thursday 22 October to Sunday 1 November. Blenheim Palace runs its after-dark trail over the same eleven days, Crocodiles of the World at Brize Norton opens for three Fright Nights from 29 to 31 October, and the town museum leads a ghost walk on Halloween night itself. Witney Town Council organises no Halloween event of its own: its what’s on page moves straight from September to Remembrance Sunday.

Cogges Manor Farm: Dracula Spooktacular

Cogges is the Halloween event in Witney itself, a short walk from the Market Place over the Windrush. The 13th century Manor House becomes Dracula’s castle, and you walk through it room by room meeting the count and his friends. The Barley Barn holds a Halloween disco, and the Wheat Barn has a bouncy castle, spooky crafts and a vampire dressing-up corner. Everything is under a roof, so it is the one option here that does not depend on the weather.

  • Dates and times: Thursday 22 October to Sunday 1 November, 10am to 5pm.
  • Tickets: adults £16, children £12, family of two adults and three children £61.20, under-2s free. Annual ticket holders get 50% off. One ticket covers everything and there are no timed slots; buy online or on the day.
  • Extras: the bouncy castle runs from Saturday 24 October. A face painter is in the Wheat Barn on Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November, 10am to 3pm, charged separately.
  • Good to know: Cogges says the activities are aimed at children aged 3 and over, and the Manor House is dimly lit. The ground floor has ramps but the upstairs is not accessible. Dogs on short leads are welcome on the farm, but only assistance dogs can go into the house.

Blenheim Palace: the after-dark trail

Halloween at Blenheim Palace runs from Thursday 22 October to Sunday 1 November and is an illuminated evening trail through the grounds at Woodstock. This year’s route includes a spider’s lair, a pirate wreck, vampire hunters and catacombs. Blenheim says 2026 tickets are on sale now, but its event page gives no prices or entry times, and the booking system was not readable when we checked. Food and drink cost extra, and dogs are not allowed.

The trail is not the same thing as Haunted Half Term, Blenheim’s daytime programme in the Walled Garden and Adventure Play from Saturday 24 October, which is included with an Annual Pass, 10am to 4.30pm. A ticket for one does not get you into the other. The daytime timetable is on our Witney October half term page.

Crocodiles of the World: Fright Nights

The UK’s only crocodile zoo, on Burford Road at Brize Norton, reopens after dark for three Fright Nights on Thursday 29, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, 7pm to 9.30pm. The zoo’s published schedule, which it says may change at short notice:

  • 7pm to 7.45pm: meet a snake and a baby alligator
  • 7.45pm to 8pm: night-time Nile crocodile feed
  • 8.30pm to 8.45pm: saltwater crocodile feed

Prices on the zoo’s booking page: adult (16 and over) £16, child (3 to 15) £12.50, concession £14.50, family of two adults and two children £51, two adults and three children £61, under-3s free. Parking is free, the café is open for drinks and light snacks, and the mini golf is open. Tickets are limited.

Witney Secrets: the museum’s ghost walk

Witney and District Museum runs a 90-minute evening walk through the town’s ghost stories and darker history on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, 6.30pm to 8pm, starting at the museum, 75 High Street. It costs £10 and the museum lists it as an adult tour. Spaces are limited and booking is essential, by email to admin@witneymuseum.org.uk or on 01993 775915.

Pumpkin picking: Millets Farm

We found no pick-your-own pumpkin patch in Witney itself with 2026 dates published. The nearest large one that has published them is Millets Farm Centre on Kingston Road, Frilford, near Abingdon (OX13 5HB).

  • Open: weekends from Saturday 3 October, then daily from Thursday 22 October to Saturday 31 October.
  • Entry: off-peak tickets from £4 a person, peak days (17 and 18 October and 23 to 31 October, with entertainment and story times) from £5. Under-2s are free. Book online for the cheaper price; there is a £1 booking fee per order.
  • Pumpkins: paid for on top of entry, from £1 each depending on size.
  • Times: mostly 10am to 4pm on off-peak days and 9am to 4pm on peak days; Saturday 31 October closes at 3pm.
  • Dogs: not allowed, except on Saturday 31 October, which is the dog friendly day. SEND sessions run 9am to 10am on Sunday 11 and Monday 26 October.

Millets also runs Pumpkins by Night, an evening woodland trail with live entertainment, food trucks and fair rides, on 16 to 18 October and 23 to 30 October, 5pm to 9.30pm (last entry 7.30pm). It costs £15.99 online or £16.99 on the door, for adults and children alike. The farm recommends it for ages 8 and over, says it is not a scare night, and does not allow dogs.

Halloween night in Witney

Saturday 31 October has the museum ghost walk at 6.30pm and the last of the Fright Nights. If you would rather sit down, Witney Dramatic Society’s spoof The Hound of the Baskervilles plays at the Corn Exchange at 7.30pm that night, £15. Everything else on in town that week is on our what’s on in Witney page.

Getting there and parking

Cogges and the museum are both walkable from the town centre, and all West Oxfordshire District Council car parks in Witney are free, with maximum stays: see parking in Witney. Blenheim, Brize Norton and Frilford are drives; the evening events at all three finish after dark, so plan the journey home before you go.

Witney High Street is fully closed for the town centre works until Friday 9 October, with bus stops moved, according to Oxfordshire County Council. Closures across the district are on our Witney roadworks and travel page.

Still to be confirmed

  • Blenheim’s trail prices and entry times, which are not on its event page. We will add them when they are published.
