Witney town holds no bonfire night display. Witney Lakes is booked for Friday 6 November, and Ducklington and Minster Mill both fall on Sunday 8 November.

There is no fireworks display in Witney town itself. Witney Town Council runs none, none is listed on its what’s on page for November beyond the Remembrance service on 8 November, and no bonfire event appears in the events reports the council writes about hires of the Leys.

Three displays within a few miles are confirmed for 2026. Two of them are on the same night. Bonfire night itself, 5 November, falls on a Thursday, and none of the three is on it.

Witney Lakes Resort, Friday 6 November

The closest thing Witney has to a town display, on Downs Road at OX29 0SY. Details are from the resort’s own event page.

General admission tickets were not on sale when we checked on 5 September. The resort’s page says they “go on sale in September 2026” and flags early bird pricing, so the general price is not yet public. Only the VIP tier and the parking charge are.

The VIP upgrade buys an arrival drink, a balcony viewing area and a fork buffet. The resort says the event is about 95% outdoors with limited indoor space that cannot take everyone, and that sparklers and personal fireworks are banned outright: anyone using them will be asked to leave. No external food or drink.

Ducklington Showground, Sunday 8 November

The biggest of the three, two miles south of Witney on the A415 at OX29 7YH, run by Xplosive Events with fireworks by Illusion Fireworks. Everything below is from the event’s own site.

Tickets go on sale at 11.00am on Friday 11 September, with a 10% discount code for anyone who registers and a WhatsApp early access window from 10.30am, half an hour before general release. That is the one date on this page worth putting in a diary now.

The bonfire is a pallet bonfire, there are fireballs, and monster truck rides and funfair rides cost extra on the night. The organisers ask people to arrive from 4pm to park and to follow the marshals on the way out.

Old Swan and Minster Mill, Minster Lovell, Sunday 8 November

There is a barbecue and a bar. Tickets and parking are sold as two separate bookings, so buying one does not get you the other.

The clash, and what it means for you

Ducklington and Minster Mill are both on Sunday 8 November, and they are seven minutes apart by car. Minster Mill’s display is at 6.30pm and Ducklington’s main display at 7.30pm, which in theory leaves an hour, but Minster Mill shuts its gates at 7.30pm and Ducklington wants you parked by 6pm for the children’s show. Pick one.

If the point is the children’s low-noise display, Ducklington is the only one of the three that runs one.

Not announced for 2026

North Leigh FC, at OX29 6SL, has run an annual fireworks-to-music night for years. Nothing is confirmed for 2026. The club’s own website carries no mention of it, and its ticket pages are behind a challenge page we cannot read. WRFM’s listing records the 2025 event as Saturday 1 November, 6.30pm to 9pm. Carterton, Chipping Norton and Woodstock have published nothing for bonfire night 2026 at the time of writing.

Be careful with the aggregator lists. Daily Info’s Oxfordshire fireworks page is still headed 2025, and The Oxford Magazine’s county round-up was last written on 30 October 2025 and mixes a 2026 Oxford entry into a page of 2025 events. Every date on this page was taken from the organiser’s own site on 5 September 2026.

Getting there and back

None of the three displays is in Witney town centre, so this is a driving night for most people, and two of the three charge for parking or ration it.

  • Witney Lakes: parking is £6 and capped, and the resort asks people to car share.
  • Ducklington: parking is free, but the site is on the A415 and the exit is marshalled, so allow time.
  • Minster Mill: £5 per car, booked separately from the ticket.
